Welcome to our collection of by award winning Karen Whitworth. From her earliest years growing up in the Last Frontier north of , her was inspired by and it's vast . Through she explores the contrasts between the rugged mountains shrouded in , and the delicate petals of the fireweed flower or the seemingly playful expressions of nesting on a rocky cliff. It is in this broad spectrum of life in that she so eloquently captures the light of "The Great Land".
the Colors of
Her early , "Orca Sunrise" which features a glacier scene inspired by her many trips to Prince William Sound, required an entire tube of magenta to complete. Since then these new colors have been the vehicle by which she has gained a following and reputation for capturing the vibrant glow of the sun. features a palette full of steely blues and soft earthy tones. Over time, as she explored her relationship with this northern and it's inhabitants, the palette of this started to build on the other side of the spectrum.
